What is a Capsule Collection?
As a small business owner and LuLaRoe retailer, I wear many hats. I’m an accountant, a CEO, a marketer, a publicist, and my favorite, a stylist. My passion is not finding you one dress to love but creating an entire wardrobe full of beautiful pieces that speak to your heart.
This starts with a few basic pieces, usually solids and neutral prints, and expands from there. The goal is to have a few garments that you can mix and match with each other for a variety of outfits, rather than a surplus of individuals. An example exists in my own closet. I own a beautiful Perfect Tee in a stunning shade of turquoise. This top can be worn with three of my Cassie skirts, two Julia dresses, and at least five pairs of leggings. One top, ten outfits. This can be easily accomplished with a black skirt or dress, but life is too short to wear boring clothes (wink wink).
How are they made?
To create a capsule, I first need some basic information from my customer (that’s you, dear!). We start with sizes of every LuLaRoe style you own since I can pretty accurately guess your sizes in styles you may not have tried before. Next, we move to style preferences. I ask about upcoming events you may need an outfit for, what your dress code is at your day job, and what you like to wear on the weekends. Once I get a feel for your personal style, we talk about colors and patterns.
Since this is a complimentary service I offer all my ladies, there’s no obligation to purchase and you can request prints that may be a little outside of your comfort zone. When you can see a bold or bright piece in a styled outfit, it often takes away some of the fear and hesitation some have when seeing pieces solo. When I have sufficient direction, I get to work!
The Reveal!
Since each lady wears different sizes in many styles and my inventory is always changing, I never produce the same capsule collection twice! I put together as many practical and versatile outfits as I can, and post them for review. After rave feedback and awe, cause I have what the kids call “mad skills”, you may choose none or all of the items to purchase. Yes, it’s that easy. I also offer to create capsules around items you already have in your closet, even if they’re not LuLaRoe! My goal is to give you versatility.
